Danielle
worked to a deadline in terms of editing the short promo
documentary using Adobe Premiere Pro. She worked as part of a team, editing
the video based on analysis of rushes, shot logs and editing logs made by the
group. She carried out safe working practices when editing the video,
following professional practices by taking regular breaks. Danielle used
learning from Unit 46 to create transitions and text effects in order to
create a short promo documentary with meaning. Audio on the promo was also
edited using Adobe Audition to clean up the material as much as possible
owing to the interference from the nightclub noise when filming. Danielle
role is clearly identifiable as part of the editing team for the promo
documentary and was completed in front of the tutor in class time.

LO3: Evidence of filming
Once we arrived at plug we were given a brief of what they wanted us to film and what they didn't want us to film, and also what areas we could have access to. After we then left the site to buy some lunch as we left straight from college, and then when we arrived back at plug we then set up the cameras to interview the band that had arrived, then when and took some practice shots of the first band as they were the only band doing a sound check at the time.
We set up the larger Sony Camera for interviewing the band as it captured more in the shot and was a lot better for sound quality, when we was using the camera to interview we also put headphones into the camera to make sure the sound quality was good as if it wasn't very good quality it would take more time later in the editing process, so the better the sound quality the less time we would need to spend editing.
To make sure the sound was it's best that it could possibly be we used the mics on each other to make sure they were working properly by listening to the result through a pair of headphones.
The first interview we did was of the Bone lab which was in the red room where we had access to before the crowds of people starting entering, the next interview was more of a struggle as it was further on into the night it was in the green area where the sound quality really wasn't great as their interview really did take a bit of editing as there was a lot of noise from the crowd and the music. Were as the last band the north was great for both footage and sound as we recorded it in the propaganda side and as propaganda didn't start till quite late on there was plenty of room and it was really quite so to improve this I would interview all the bands in the same place however I think that interviewing the bands in different areas kind of got a mixture of footage and a feel of the plug building rather than one set place all the time, showing the people watching what the building is actually like.

LO3: Producing media content
Be able to produce materials for use in an original audio-visual media product
P4 Learners produce competent materials to be used in their planned original audio-visual media product
M2 Production of material is proficient. The production techniques
and/or processes are fit for purpose and used effectively to create
meaning within the planned outcome
D1 Materials produced are generally of a high technical standard and
quality. Conventions of the chosen genre are followed, within the
intentions of
the production. The production techniques and/or processes are used to
good effect to enhance meaning, within the intentions of the production
P4/M2/D1: learners producing their planned audio-visual media product
should wherever possible work to a deadline and follow safe working
practices. It may provide good experience for learners to work in a
team, to produce the audio-visual media product, however individual
learner’s contribution to the overall work must be clear identifiable.
If working as a group it is important that learners can demonstrate their contribution to the process, this could
take the form of a witness statement from the teacher
and evidenced in a production diary. Learners should be taught
appropriate production skills in line with commercial practices, which
may be possible through teacher led skills workshops, or, where
possible, inviting guest practitioners
to the Centre. It is also important that learners adopt safe working
practices in line with the audio-visual media product they are producing
and with reference to the recces and risk assessments produced in P2.
Learners could use annotated photographic evidence, or an audio-visual
recording with voiceover to demonstrate their role in setting up and
using equipment to produce footage for the audio-visual product such as a
TV programme, ident, short film etc.
